Adoption Tails 9/5/12 | Tree House Humane Society

Rounding out our record- breaking August, we?re proud to announce another ten adopting, bringing the total for the month to 66! We?ve also already said goodbye to six cats in September, and can?t wait to see what the rest of the month brings.

First, everyone?s pal, Sharkey, has finally gone home!? He was scooped up by an enthusiastic young man who met him on Saturday morning, promising to return in the afternoon. The paperwork was completed and it was a matter of minutes before Sharkey went into the carrier. Sharkey will be ?one of the guys? on his new homefront and both adopter nd resident cat were clearly excited to welcome their new buddy.

Sweet little Ridley has spent the last few months watching as all his siblings were adopted. During his stay here, we?d seen him grow from an adorable little pip-squeak to a strapping young fella?, the embodiment of good looks and gumption. Though he was a perfect little guy, no one took him home. Then last week, adopters came in looking for a cat that would do well with their kitty at home. They spent several hours getting to know the residents. Ridley did a really good job of inserting himself into any interaction the adopters had with the other residents, really hamming it up until the adopters realized they had no choice, Ridley was the perfect cat for them (you see, Ridley is a very persuasive guy). Ridly eagerly clambered into his carrier, and after uttering one more of his trademark silent meows, went on to his forever home.

De Rosa has been adopted! Recently, we flew to Colorado to bring this cat back home after we learned his adopter could no longer care for him. Luckily, he was scooped up by a former adopter, who thinks he?ll get along famously with her other Tree House cat! Now named Oreo, you can see he?s happy and comfortable in his new home already (check out our Facebook page!). We?re glad he has a place to settle in to.

We kicked off the holiday weekend with a whopping seven adoptions on the 31st!? So many great people came in, and so many great cats went home. Sabrina Shoe, after months of discomfort in the shelter, was adopted by a couple who?d had their eye on her ever since they adopted two of her kittens! Pictures of her are up on facebook as well, and she looks quite pleased with her new home. Desiree and Benita were each adopted right out of their acclimation units- they were both that charming. Wisp, Wafflefry, and Wiffle were adopted out of their foster homes! The foster family?s friends were so enamored with the kittens that they wanted to provide forever homes. Two families came to Tree House to complete paperwork, and the kittens never even saw the adoption floor. After months of waiting and hamming it up on a professional level, sweet, beautiful, and too-often-overlooked Rosetta has found herself a home! The sweet little gal turned up her charm to maximum level when a very nice adopter came in yesterday looking for a kitty. She ran up to him immediately to introduce herself, purring and rolling around and making sure to get as many belly rubs as possible. It didn?t take long for the adopter to decide on who he was going to take. He signed the paperwork and came back today to pick her up, clearly very excited for the new addition to his family.

Since April, Bashful and McGonagall have been cautiously playing with each other in Willow colony (they were TNR?d from the location, and may be related in some way). An adopter came in, intending to adopt only one adult cat, but they changed her mind! The adopter liked both cats, and when she saw how uncomfortable they were around other cats, and how sweet they were with each other, she knew she?d be taking them both.

Also adopted were Rodimus, Mary Tyler Moore, Paisano, and Shadowkat. What a busy week here! Congratulations to all.
